Why Oxford Shirts Suck

Yes, I really believe they do. Oxford shirts are the bane of my existence. I hate them for several reasons:

1) They are rarely pretty & plain just isn’t my thing when it comes to fashion. I prefer things that are fabulous. “Oh, I can’t wait to show off my new oxford shirt,” said nobody ever. Nor will you ever hear, “Ooh, there’s a fabulous party this weekend. I simply must go buy an oxford shirt.”

2) I hate clothes that aren’t comfy and most oxford shirts are stiff & starchy. Even if they are made of something softer, I still hate to layer with them because they’re just too bulky to fit nicely under a sweater. I tried to do the cropped sweater over an oxford trend today & it was way too hot & lumpy. I just can’t stand the bulkiness. I feel like I’m suffocating in a strait jacket & can’t move normally. And like I said before, they’re just not attractive enough to wear on their own.

3) No matter how much you size up, if you’re large-chested like me, they always pull & gap between the buttons. And that neckline does nothing for more well- endowed gals either.

So, in conclusion, maybe my views would be different if I were Alexa Chung, Taylor Swift or some other girl with more of a model’s body, but I can’t imagine that anyone my size enjoys wearing these. I own a couple, but almost never put them on & regret it if I do. I won’t be buying any more.

So what article of clothing do you wish didn’t exist? Tell me!
